We will achieve this goal through collective bargaining with the university to improve working conditions for graduate employees, raising awareness about issues faced by OU graduate employees, and through creating a safe and supportive community in which graduate employees can gather and discuss their common concerns.

Report on OU graduate employee working conditions compared to our peer institutions
We have generated the attached report on the working conditions of graduate employees at Ohio University compared to our peer institutions. The report is not flattering, to say the least. Please look at it and share it with faculty and students in your departments. We need to get this information out there so everyone can see that our peer institutions prioritize their graduate employees' well-being more than Ohio University does.
Report comparing OU to other Ohio public institutions
In a follow-up to our report on Ohio University’s peer institutions from around the country, the OU GEO conducted further research to measure OU against other Ohio public universities in terms of graduate employee working conditions. Among the findings, we discovered that 70 percent of Ohio public universities had higher minimum stipends than Ohio University (at $7,200 annually). Additionally, all but one (Miami University) had lower graduate fees than OU. Read the full report below.
